What is Rising Start?
Rising Start is a non-profit philanthropic event in support of Change for Kids, which invests in New York City’s public elementary schools in low-income communities. (Mutual of America recognizes the outstanding programs and services offered by CFK as one of the country’s “Top 10 Most Scalable Models.”) In 2016, Rising Start raised more than $47,000 for Change For Kids, funding art museum residencies, creative writing classes, chess, fitness and nutrition programs.
Join us for a night of art and giving at Ramscale Studio

Rising Start provides a unique platform for NYC’s artists to showcase their work to a new audience of art lovers. Guests have the chance to meet and mingle with the artists, learn about what inspires them and how they create, and provides an opportunity for all to take home an original piece of artwork at an affordable price. A select group of artists have individually designed an original piece of work specifically for the event. The designs will be pulled into a limited edition series of five silk screens, which will each be for sale during the evening for $150. All proceeds from Rising Start will be donated to Change for Kids (CFK).

About the Venue
Located in the West Village and the Highline district of New York, Ramscale Studio offers awe-inspiring views of the Hudson River, the New York Harbor, and all the iconic Manhattan skyscrapers from One World Trade Center to the Empire State Building. The Ramscale Studio Penthouse sits atop the historic Westbeth Artists’ Housing. Originally the site of Bell Laboratories (1868-1966), this building was one of the world’s most important research centers. It was here that the first talking movie, the condenser microphone, the first TV broadcast, and the first binary computer were demonstrated. Since the 1960s, Westbeth has acted as a New York cultural hub, and affordable artists’ housing.
